Jodi Heston, MSEd, serves as Program Manager for Baylor TIP (Talent Identification Program) within the Center for Gifted Education and Talent Development. She serves as the primary point person for the planning, development, and implementation of all TIP programs and services for students, parents, and educators.
She brings more than 31 years of experience in public education, having served as a classroom teacher, school counselor, and educational diagnostician. Her diverse professional background has equipped her with a broad skill set that includes administering assessments, identifying gifted learners, collaborating with families to support student growth, and coordinating schoolwide programming and events. In addition to her professional experience, Jodi brings a personal perspective as the parent of gifted children. She is deeply committed to providing gifted learners with meaningful opportunities that challenge them academically and foster personal growth.
Jodi earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Baylor University in 1994, along with secondary teaching certification. She completed her master’s degree in educational psychology with a focus on school counseling at Baylor University in 1999. In 2019, she earned certification as an educational diagnostician through Lamar University. Jodi holds certifications in elementary, secondary, and special education and is also a certified school counselor and educational diagnostician.
