UYP Summer Courses
Summer University for Young People Course Offerings: Registration closed on May 17th
Students need not be formally identified as gifted to attend. They do not need to apply to participate in the program. For all grade levels, UYP dates for summer 2026 are June 8-12 and June 22-26. Classes meet from 8:30-3:30 daily and include lunch.
Courses offered through UYP are designed to foster gifted students’ critical and creative thinking skills. Curriculum at this level typically relies on a creative problem-solving framework, which involves defining a problem within a specific scenario, brainstorming ideas for solving it, and collaborating with others to implement and analyze the solutions. Through these activities, students develop key skills (such as critical analysis, idea generation, flexible thinking, effective communication, leadership, and teamwork) that are necessary for future academic success.
A 25% nonrefundable deposit is due at registration, and there are several payment plans available. Students who register for more than one class and families who register more than one student are eligible for a 10% discount. Please note that the enrollments must occur as part of the same transaction in order for the registration system to apply the discount.
